After releasing their EP Inside An Extended Play in November 2021, the São Paulo-based band Hollowmind is now preparing for a series of collaborations with musicians who have influenced their career. The first of these is the single "State of Unfairs," which has now been given a new arrangement with solos by Felipe Machado of VIPER .
“It’s an honor when our idols become friends, imagine then when they agree to participate in a song you composed,” celebrates bassist and vocalist Rob Gutierrez . “In Felipe’s case, I’ve followed him practically since VIPER started their career in our neighborhood in São Paulo.”
“The invitation to play with Hollowmind was the missing piece to solidify my musical partnership with Rob Gutierrez. He's already played in VIPER shows and on my solo project, this was the only thing missing,” says Felipe. “I really liked the song; it's reminiscent of bands that know how to blend heavier sounds well with a progressive style, like Fates Warning and Rush . Regarding my participation, I tried to do something more melodic to complement Ale Silveira's solo, which is more technical. I think it worked well.”
Produced and mixed by Val Santos ( Toyshop , ex-VIPER), the single is a Wikimetal Music and is available on all digital platforms.
