In an interview on the Meltdown Podcast, Metallica frontman James Hetfield commented on guitarist Kirk Hammett's claim to have lost his cell phone , which contained ideas for their latest album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct .

Kirk had some riffs that he… submitted. It’s not a nice word to use when you’re in a band. But we all submit our recordings, sit down, listen, and choose the best stuff.
