The current state of health of Paul Di'Anno , former vocalist of Iron Maiden , has worried fans around the world. The singer has been waiting for knee surgery for seven years and needs to raise £26,000 to undergo the procedure in a private hospital.
Earlier this week, Kastro Pergjoni , owner of the Cart & Horses , where Iron Maiden played their first shows, shared a recent photo of Di'Anno's legs . A friend and fundraiser for the singer, Pergjoni asked for help to reach the total amount as soon as possible.
Manifesto Bar music venue decided to launch a fundraising campaign in Brazil as well. Paul Di'Anno had previously performed at the venue and also frequented it when traveling to São Paulo, building a friendly relationship with the owners, staff, and even customers.
"Aware of the problems [Paul] has been facing, living with knee problems and in a wheelchair for 6 years, Manifesto Bar is showing solidarity and creating a campaign similar to the crowdfunding campaign created by the Cart & Horses pub to pay for knee surgery," the establishment explains.
The goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to raise R$100,000, equivalent to approximately £13,000, which is the amount still needed for the campaign that began in the United Kingdom. To help, simply visit the campaign website and make a donation starting from R$25 using the various payment methods available.
