Ray Mayorga will replace Vinnie Paul
Hellyeah Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga its newest member.
The band released a statement with the announcement. “Please welcome our dear friend and brother Roy Mayorga, who will be behind the drum kit as we honor our brother Vinnie Paul . These guys had so much love and mutual respect between them, which makes this transition so much easier. Ready or not, here we go!”
Rumors of Mayorga's involvement surfaced last month with two photos the drummer posted on Instagram. They showed a new drum kit that, according to many, looked very similar to that of Vinnie Paul, the band's former drummer.
Mayorga played with Hellyeah bassist Kyle Sanders in the band Medication in the early 2000s.
Stone Sour is going on hiatus now that vocalist Corey Taylor is focusing on the new phase of Slipknot .
