All the money raised from the banner will go to refugees.
The São Paulo-based band Hellene has released the music video for their single "Lost Wars" from their debut EP, Zeitgeist . The idea for the track and the video came from the band's concern about the major refugee crisis we are experiencing.
“Lost Wars” was a collaborative work with UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) and Pier 66 Films to draw attention to the problem at hand.
In the video, Hellene presents UNHCR data showing the number of refugees worldwide and conveys messages of strength and unity, as well as information on how to help the agency provide assistance to those in need.
Directed by Plínio Scamborra, the documentary-style video is full of striking images that have become iconic in recent years, demonstrating the pain and suffering of refugees.
All the money raised from the sale of the single “Lost Wars” and from views of the music video will be donated to UNHCR.
“It’s not new for heavy metal to hold events and do charitable actions. More recently, the band Noturnall released the music video for 'Hearts As One' and donated the income generated by plays and views to patients undergoing treatment for childhood and adolescent cancer at GRAAC. I believe we managed to combine audiovisual elements to convey a very important message. I think we cannot remain silent in the face of the world's problems ,” said guitarist Paul Martins.
Martins accompanies Bia Lombardi (vocals), Alan Dias (guitar), Rodrigo Rickota (bass) and Beto Patressi (drums) in the band Hellene.
