An online survey by Bgo.com revealed that heavy metal is the favorite music genre in the United Kingdom. The style won with 20% of the votes, competing directly with dance, reggae, and hip hop. Pop music received 13% of the votes.
The United Kingdom is famous for being the birthplace of bands such as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Saxon, Motörhead, Iron Maiden, and Grim Reaper .
