The course lasts two years.
The English school New College Nottingham has added a Heavy Metal course to its curriculum. The two-year degree includes classes in composition, music history, and instrumental practice.
Responding to criticisms that the course would be an easy degree, one of the faculty members, Liam Maloy, said that the course will be academically rigorous.
Maloy, one of the course's founders, adds: "Heavy Metal in the past wasn't taken seriously, and is seen as academically weak when compared to jazz or classical music. But that's just a cultural construct."
