Heaven Shall Burn released the track “Numbered Days” as a single, a cover of Killswitch Engage's song , originally released on the album Alive of Just Breathing (2002). The song features a guest appearance by Jesse Leach , vocalist of Killswitch Engage.

According to the German band, the opportunity to work with Jesse Leach was an exciting proposition [via Metal Sucks ]:

“When we first heard 'Numbered Days,' we were completely blown away. It was clear that something new was emerging. No other band has influenced this style of music more and interpreted it better. Just because the guys are longtime friends doesn't mean you can't pay tribute to this incredible band. We hope the song means as much to you as it means to us!”

Next, Jesse Leach also got emotional playing a new version of his band's song:

“We are all honored to be covered of 'Numbered Days'. This song truly kicked off an album that would change our lives. After all these years, having people still resonate with our music means so much to us. Now, to have a band like Heaven Shall Burn covering it 23 years later is truly incredible! Grateful and overjoyed to have been a part of reimagining this song and to hear someone else's interpretation!”

Currently, the band is preparing to release their new album, Heimat, on June 27th via Century Media . This is their first album in five years, and it once again features artwork by illustrator Eliran Kantor and mixing and mastering by Tue Madsen .
