Headbangers help children with cancer.

Festival asks for hair in exchange for admission.

The Hair Fest festival, which took place in Mexico City in April, innovated in its approach to charity. Supporting the recovery of children with cancer, the entrance fee to see the show featuring 9 metal bands was the donation of hair to make wigs, which were then given to children suffering from the disease.

Participating bands included Luzbel, Ágora, Voltax, Maligno, Intoxxxicated, Black Overdrive, Los Viejos, Raped God 666, and Profanator. The festival is associated with the organization Casa de la Amistad para Niños con Cáncer , which helps treat cancer in underprivileged children. In a video made by the organization, headbangers make wigs from their own hair.

The Hair Fest resulted in over 500 wigs and 100,000 pesos in donations for the institution. Watch the video:
