Hayley Williams , vocalist of Paramore , released her first solo song this Wednesday, the 22nd. “Simmer” shows a different side of the singer, something that differs from the group's last release, After Laughter (2017), and moves away from the emo-rock that the group created in the 2000s.
The track is part of the Petals for Armor , which debuts with this release. “I’m so ready and incredibly honored to share this project with you all,” said Hayley, “One of the moments I’m most proud of in my songwriting was composing for Petals for Armor . And I got my hands dirty in the studio and used the instruments a lot.”
Hayley further explains that she never felt the need to go solo because she's "in a band with my favorite musicians." However, she reveals that she used the project to experiment a bit more.
Check out “Simmer” below – which already has a music video to launch the project.
