Sales increased due to promotion

Metallica's latest album, "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct," saw a 191% increase in sales last week, jumping from fourteenth place on the Billboard album sales chart to second place. Ahead of it is Ed Sheeran's new album, "÷".

The increase in Metallica sales was due to a promotion announced for the Baltimore show, where ticket buyers received the album along with their ticket purchase. As a result, the equivalent of 81,000 albums were sold.

The first three singles from “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct” reached the top 5 on the Billboard charts.
