Just before landing in Brazil, HammerFall announced this Thursday, the 25th, the release of their new studio album, Avenge The Fallen .
Vocalist Joacim Cans explains: “This is our 13th album. How do you still remain relevant after 13 albums? It's very similar to the opening line of the song 'Avenge The Fallen': 'What is the worst, be the one who died, or be the one who survived.' Think about it, because it's a difficult question.”
He continues: “Do we want to be a band that releases new music solely for the sake of getting back on the road, or do we want to keep pushing ourselves and challenging ourselves? In times where people have increasingly shorter attention spans, we still think in terms of full albums.”
“Some good songs don’t make a strong album. A strong album comes from an album full of great songs, and that’s what we’re delivering with Avenge The Fallen .”
Scheduled for release on August 9th by Nuclear Blast Records, HammerFall fans can now check out the first single from the new album, "Hail To The King".
The band will perform this Saturday, the 27th, at the second edition of Summer Breeze Brasil, alongside names like Within Temptation , Epica , and Lacuna Coil .
