Helloween 's "Keeper of the Seven Keys" is undoubtedly one of the greatest metal classics, and that's the song we're going to talk about today.
Its
story would certainly make an excellent book, or a great RPG story. It's a song about the fight between good and evil. It tells of a dystopian future where our planet is about to be taken over by Lucifer himself.
Like any fantasy story, there is a chosen one who can destroy the darkness and bring peace back to humanity. So he must don his armor, wield his sword, and set out on his journey.

An
old prophet who foresaw what will happen gives seven keys to the chosen one, making him the "guardian of the seven keys," with the purpose of sealing the seven sins in each of the seven seas.
“You are the guardian of the seven keys
That lock the seven seas
And the prophet of visions
Said before going blind”
The
chosen one sets out on his journey, which is not easy at all, full of temptations and challenges. He throws the first key into the sea of hatred. The second key into the sea of fear. The third key into the sea of folly. The fourth key into the sea of greed. The fifth key into the sea of ignorance. The sixth key he must throw into the sea of disease, and he does so quickly, for he already perceives that there is a greater force upon him.
“Disease, disease, disease my friend
For this whole world in the devil's hand
Disease, disease, disease my friend
Throw the key or you may die”
He manages to reach the last sea, where Lucifer awaits him, and tries to make him fall into the temptation of eternal power. But he does not yield, and follows his destiny, throwing the last and most important key, which is the key necessary to lock the Devil in the depths of the last sea.
An earthquake occurs, and the earth literally swallows the Devil, locking him inside (perhaps an analogy to hell).

With
this, the chosen one locks the seven seas and restores peace to the world. And the song ends as follows:
