Sales increased by 4.2% between 2021 and 2022, rising from 41.72 million to 43.46 million. Not stopping there, just as in the United Kingdom , these sales surpassed those of CDs for the first time in decades.
Furthermore, the study showed that super fans are almost three times more likely to purchase a record, while rock fans are 8% more likely to listen.

The research then suggests that consumers view the format as an aesthetic or collectible object rather than an auditory one.
