Band beats Iron Maiden and Megadeth
At the 55th Grammy Awards, which took place this Sunday, the band Halestorm won the award for best Metal performance. The band was competing in the category against Megadeth ('Whose Life (Is It Anyways?)'), Iron Maiden ('Blood Brothers'), Marilyn Manson ('No Reflection'), Lamb Of God ('Ghost Walking') and Anthrax ('I'm Alive').
The winning song was “Love Bites (So Do I)”. On her Facebook page, vocalist Lzzy Hale expressed her gratitude and said she felt honored to be the first woman to win the award in this category.
This was Megadeth's 11th Grammy nomination. The band holds the record for most nominations without winning.
