As the song title suggests, the group appears in the music video "returning from the dead." Directed by Dustin Haney , the video shows the members struggling to come back to life. The meaning of the song isn't as literal as it seems, but it speaks to difficult mental health experiences where we face death up close.
In explaining her story, vocalist Lzzy Hale says that with the song she wants to show what these last few months have been like in her head. The singer says that, like all of us, she went through difficult times and wrote this song as a way to regain her strength and control of her life.
