Halestorm Everest , this Friday, the 30th . Produced by Grammy Dave Cobb , Everest will be released on August 8th by Atlantic Records .
Vocalist Lzzy Hale commented on the release: “Our song 'Everest' is the culmination of everything we've fought for — every scream, every scar, every triumph. This album is us , louder and bolder, and more brutally honest than ever, standing in the storm.”
In an interview with Cutters Rockcast , vocalist Lzzy Hale also commented on the sound of the new project, highlighting a return to the band's roots:
“My bassist said something yesterday that made perfect sense. He said, ‘It’s like a long journey back to the beginning,’ because we all felt, at some point, like we were back in our parents’ basement, struggling to figure out how to write songs that actually worked. The difference now is that we have all this knowledge and experience. It was like the music was guiding us, instead of us trying to force something.”
The new work follows “Darkness Always Wins” , the first single released, which entered the top 20 of Active Rock radio in the USA and is on the B list of Planet Rock and Kerrang! in the UK.
Currently, the band has begun touring Europe as the opening act for Iron Maiden . Next, they will perform at Black Sabbath's final show on July 5th, and then return to the US for a tour with Volbeat .
