Halestorm Everest , this Thursday, the 26th. Produced by Grammy Dave Cobb , Everest will be released on August 8th by Atlantic Records .
“Darkness Always Wins” entered the top 20 of Active Rock radio in the US and is on the B list of Planet Rock and Kerrang! in the UK.
In a statement, vocalist Lzzy Hale commented on the release: “'Darkness Always Wins' is not a song of hope, nor of despair. It's reality. History repeats itself. Evil prevails and the good go first. But we are not doomed as long as we persist and keep our flames burning. We cannot win the war in this life. But our mission is to pass the torch so that those who come after us have a light to fight by.”
Guitarist Joe Hottinger took to social media to comment on the single : “We wrote this in Savannah, Georgia. It was the first song we wrote for what would become the album. It was like a test session… we went there to see how it was working with Dave Cobb. We wrote and recorded it in two days at his then-new studio. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship that turned into a beautiful album.”
Currently, the band has begun touring Europe as the opening act for Iron Maiden . Next, they will perform at Black Sabbath's final show on July 5th, and then return to the US for a tour with Volbeat .
