Guitarist Joe Hottinger spoke about vocalist Lzzy Hale
Halestorm guitarist Joe Hottinger was interviewed by an English radio station and spoke about vocalist Lzzy Hale .
He said the band is often described as “fronted by a woman.” “We do what we do. Lzzy is wonderful and has a lot to say for being a woman in the rock and roll scene. Even more so in hard rock, known for being traditionally aggressive and full of testosterone. There are so many fantastic women right now: Maria Brink (In This Moment), Ash Costello (New Years Day) and Amy Lee (Evanescence) … All proving that rock or metal doesn’t need testosterone.”
He continued: “It’s wonderful, we toured with In This Moment and New Years Day. There were so many girls at the shows – more than guys – and they were having a blast, dominating the moment. This has nothing to do with gender – it’s just music. It’s not a ‘man’s world’ or a ‘man thing’. It’s just music and it’s great to see them dominating everything.”
