Halestorm has teamed up with the country group Brooks & Dunn to record a version of the song "Boot Scootin' Boogie" which will be included on the duo's upcoming album, Reboot II , scheduled for release on November 15th.
Lzzy Hale , vocalist of Halestorm, explained how she got involved in the project (via Instagram ): “A few months ago we received an email we never expected to receive. Brooks & Dunn asked us if we wanted to do a reimagined version of their legendary song “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”. That’s a pretty crazy request to pass up and it whetted our appetite for adventure. We asked if there would be any rules for this particular project and when they replied with a resounding “NO RULES APPLY”, the boys and I knew this was going to be weird.”
She concludes: “It’s an honor to receive the trust of these legends, our thanks to Kix Brooks , Ronnie Dunn , Dan Huff , Juice and the entire B&D team for placing their faith in us and letting us launch this incredible party in this beautiful house you built.”
Books & Dunn liked the result that Halestorm brought to the music.
Kix Brooks commented in an interview (via Billboard ) about Halestorm's version: “They didn't disappoint. At this point in our career, we're not nervous about that anymore, especially on recordings like this and with the artists we invite. Halestorm is a tough, tight-knit band, and any song that comes out of their minds will be a hit. It was fun to see Ronnie trying to match Lzzy. I was like, 'Good luck, mate,' but he pulled it off.”
Reboot II 2019 album Reboot Country Hall of Fame the top spot on Billboard 's Top Country Albums chart the first time in a decade. Brooks & Dunn are one of the most successful country duos with twenty songs topping the Country Airplay .
