Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones commented on the group's most recent work and revealed that there is still "a lot of material" left over from Hackney Diamonds that can be explored.
In an interview with SiriusXM NPR ( via Music News ), the guitarist explained that much of the material created for the album was not used: “There’s still a lot more Hackney Diamonds to work on. There will always be another (album) until we’re done. We can rest, but you know. You’re involved in this all the time. This is what we do. We need to see the Rolling Stones go by.”
Mick Jagger had previously stated that the band had recorded around twenty-three songs , and of those, twelve are included on Hackney Diamonds . When the Rolling Stones Jimmy Fallon 's show , Ronnie Wood let slip that the Rolling Stones had made two albums.
Keith Richards also spoke about how good music is for him: “It keeps me alert and my fingers moving. And I’m still finding different ways to play things. Even if you’re approaching 80, believe me, it doesn’t stop.”
Hackney Diamonds
The Rolling Stones released their 18th album, Hackney Diamonds , at the end of October, their first since the death of drummer Charlie Watts . The record features guest appearances by Paul McCartney , Elton John , Stevie Wonder , Lady Gaga and the band's former bassist, Bill Wyman .
