The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Oderus Urungus, or Dave Brockie, the leader of the satirical Thrash Metal band Gwar, was found dead yesterday (March 23) at his home in Richmond. Brockie was 50 years old.
According to Richmond police, authorities found the body late Sunday afternoon. There are no suspicions of foul play, but a cause of death has not yet been reported.
Former Gwar bassist Mike Bishop commented on his bandmate's death: "I wish it was a joke. We're in shock. Dave was funny, intelligent, one of the most fun and energetic people I've ever met."
Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe wrote on his Instagram about the late Gwar frontman: “Dave was truly a unique human being. I can’t imagine anyone remotely like him. This is very difficult to say. My band learned a lot from Gwar. We learned how to tour with them. (…) RIP Dave Brookie. Oderus, enjoy your return home.”
