Guns N' Roses released "Perhaps" on all digital platforms, and all indications suggest the band has another song on the way.
A limited edition vinyl record of “Perhaps” is available for pre-order and also includes a new track titled “The General.” It is not yet known if the song will also be released on digital platforms.
Both “Perhaps” and “The General” were written during the Chinese Democracy (2008) and recently revisited with the return of Slash and Duff McKagan to Guns N' Roses. Other discarded and revamped songs from that time are “Hard Skool” and “Absurd” , which were released in 2021.
In a 2008 interview (via Blabbermouth ), Sebastian Bach revealed that Axl Rock described "The General" as "a sequel to 'Estranged'" from the album Use Your Illusion II , which would place it as a continuation of the trilogy based on the short story written by Del James ("Don't Cry", "November Rain" and "Stranged").
In 2007, he told Metal Edge : “One of my favorite songs is one called 'The General,' which is so… it’s by far the heaviest metal song I think I’ve ever heard Axl do. It has a slow, intense riff with high-pitched, piercing vocals, screaming vocals.”
The Guns N' Roses vinyl release featuring "Perhaps" and "The General" will ship on October 26th. It is not yet known whether the music will be available on digital platforms before or after that date.
