The return of Guns N' Roses with two songs discarded from Chinese Democracy has been generating a lot of buzz. The release of " Hard Skool " and " Absurd " has raised questions about possible new material from the band, which, according to Slash , is unlikely to happen in the near future.
In a recent interview, the guitarist gave more details about a possible new Guns N' Roses album (transcription via Blabbermouth ). “Regarding new Guns N' Roses music, we haven't even gotten to the point of actively sitting down and writing yet. We've been working on a lot of material that's been on the back burner for a while. That, alone, will require a lot of concentrated effort,” he said.
Regarding the decision to release “Hard Skool” and “Absurd,” Slash concluded: “Both songs have a lot of history. What happened was that Axl [ Rose ] has all these songs that he recorded at some point in his life and Duff [ McKagan ] basically remade them… I wrote my own parts following what was going on and we just kind of took the drums and redid everything else.”
Over the next few months, Slash will be busy preparing for the arrival of the album 4 , with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators , which will be released on February 11, 2022. The first single from the album, “ The River Is Rising, ” was released last Friday, the 22nd. Check it out.
