Guns N' Roses is already in Brazil for the Because What You Want and What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things tour . The band kicked off the shows in the country last Tuesday night, the 21st, in Florianópolis.

Backstage in Florianópolis, guitarist Duff McKagan recorded a message for fans , explaining why he didn't sing at the show last Saturday, the 18th, at the Huracán Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina . The musician was seriously ill with laryngitis, but is recovering.

He said [transcription via Wikimetal ]: “Hey guys, it’s Duff here. We’re in Florianópolis, Brazil, tonight. We just finished two nights in Buenos Aires. Actually, I was really sick. If you’re wondering why I didn’t sing Friday night, it’s because I had laryngitis and I’m recovering now. Buenos Aires was amazing. It’s good to be back in Brazil. I’m back. See you later.”

Despite the problem, the guitarist performed normally at the show in Florianópolis, as reported by journalist Mariana Barcellos in a review for NCSTotal :

“Duff McKagan had his moment to shine on vocals, singing 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' by The Stooges , after saying 'Buenas noches, motherfuckers!' and 'Thank you!' to the Brazilian audience.”

Guns N' Roses continues their tour of Brazil with shows in São Paulo (25), Curitiba (28), Cuiabá (31) and Brasília (November 2). The shows will feature an opening act by the band Raimundos .
