Guitarist Troy Seele leaves Iced Earth.

Check out the testimonial.

Guitarist Troy Seele, who has been with Iced Earth since 2007, announced his departure from the band today. On Iced Earth's official Facebook page, Seele posted the following statement:

“After almost ten years as the guitarist for Iced Earth, the time has come for me to step away. Some of you know, but many of you don’t, that I have a son with autism. In the past, I had a great support system that allowed me to pursue my music career. This is no longer the case, and I have been forced to make a very difficult decision.”.

I've always believed that family comes first, and now it's time for me to focus on that. The lifestyle of being a member of a heavy metal band is very demanding and is no longer an option for me. Knowing that the band is focused on making a new album and another tour, and considering my situation, this is the best time for me to leave.

Playing with Iced Earth was a great experience. It took me around the world many times and gave me the chance to meet my heroes, as well as play for larger audiences than I ever dreamed of. I personally want to thank Jon and the guys for the music and the times we've had over the last few years. Thank you to the fans for your understanding and support.”

The band announced that they are accepting audition videos for new guitarists. To participate, submit your file here .
