In an interview with SiriusXM radio, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson revealed that a new Rush tour is unlikely. According to the musician, there is still a possibility that he and Geddy Lee will perform together, but drummer Neil Peart would be absent.
“It’s unlikely that we’ll ever do another Rush tour. Really, we’ve toured for forty-one years, and I must say that in the first year without touring I felt like I was suffering for my career and for the band. But honestly, forty-one years of touring the way we did, I shouldn’t feel bad about it.”
At the end of their last tour, Rush confirmed their retirement from touring, citing drummer Neil Peart, who suffers from tendinitis, as unwell.
Lifeson said, however, that he still plans to work with bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee: “Ged and I will probably do something together. He’s been very busy working on his book project. He’s become a bass collector, he wants to do more things with the history of the instrument. And that keeps him quite busy.”
