Guitar Days, an internationally awarded documentary, arrives in Brazil at the In-Edit Festival

Film telling the story of Brazilian indie rock releases trailer before premiere.

After being well-received in Europe, Asia, and the USA, and winning an award in Spain in September 2018, the feature film Guitar Days – An Unlikely Story of Brazilian Music releases a trailer ahead of its premiere at the In-Edit Festival, which is in its 11th edition and takes place during the month of June in São Paulo.

The film, directed by São Paulo native Caio Augusto Braga , traces the timeline of guitar bands and the development of Brazilian Indie Rock sung in English, from its beginnings in the late 1980s, through its boom in the 1990s, and continuing to the present day.

The director gathered testimonies from key figures in the national and international indie rock scene to address the great stories (and also the details) of a musical landscape that changed the entire aesthetic of Brazilian rock. Among those interviewed are musicians from the bands Maria Angélica, Pin Ups, Second Come, Killing Chainsaw, Mickey Junkies, and PELVs ; the late Kid Vinil and Carlos Miranda ; and international figures such as Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Mark Gardener (Ride), Stephen Lawrie (The Telescopes) , as well as the journalist who coined the term "grunge," Everett True .

Guitar Days – An Unlikely Story of Brazilian Music was a double winner at the Festival Premio Latino del Cine y La Música de Marbella, in Spain, in 2018, in the documentary and directing categories.

In Brazil, the film will premiere at Cinesesc (15), Cine Olido (18) and Centro Cultural São Paulo (22). After the screening on the 22nd, In-Edit will host the free Guitar Days show, featuring the bands Pin Ups, Wry, Twinpine(s), Sky Down and guests.
