Grey Daze released a fourth single , titled "Soul Song," which came with a music video directed by Jamie , son of the band's former vocalist, Chester Bennington .
The artist's son had already been announced by the band as one of the collaborators on the re-recordings of Chester's material , including providing vocals on some tracks; however, having Jamie directing was a welcome addition to his involvement with the band.
“Having Jamie involved in the recording of 'Soul Song' meant a lot to all of us,” said drummer Sean Dowdell . “It was one of those full-circle moments where we remember meeting Chester at an even younger age than Jamie, and now recording with his son… it was a highlight of the Amends . Jamie is a burgeoning filmmaker, so when he offered to make this video, well, we couldn’t think of a better way to present this song.”
Young director Jamie explained his vision for the "Soul Song" music video: "This music video is about my spiritual connection to the other side and my experiences with the indescribable and sometimes incomprehensible presence of my father after his death. 'Soul Song' is about the many ways we arrive at enlightenment, at knowledge, and the many ways we stray from it. This is my personal experience with that." Very powerful, right?
