The Australian tour was cancelled after the Sydney show
Greta Van Fleet has been forced to cancel the remainder of their Australian tour. The reason is pharyngitis contracted by vocalist Josh Kiszka , which will prevent him from performing.
The band had already performed in Sydney on Saturday the 2nd, before announcing the cancellation.
Josh released a statement in which he promises to be "working to return and reward" his fans.
The statement reads as follows:
Dear Melbourne fans,
I have some very sad news. Unfortunately, somewhere between trips from the US to Japan and Australia, I contracted a respiratory illness that developed into laryngitis. I'm trying to recover, but I can't seem to shake it off. Doctors have informed me that performing in this condition would damage my vocal cords. It's something I can't risk. So, we need to reschedule today's and tomorrow's shows.
It means the world can touch you. It breaks my heart to have to do this. But I need to take my health seriously so I don't suffer more serious risks.
I'm sorry to have to make this announcement. We're already working on a timeline to get back to you and make it up to you. We'll announce it soon.
I hope you can understand. This was a difficult and disappointing situation for all of us
