The Battle at Garden's Gate Greta Van Fleet 's second album , is coming in 2021. And after the album's first two singles, "My Way, Soon" and "Age Of Machine," the public already notices: the band's sound has new elements.
In an interview with Loudwire , brothers Josh and Sam Kiszka share more about the band's sonic shift for their upcoming album, and how that process unfolded during the recording of the project. "We knew we had to find people we trusted who could achieve the sound we were aiming for, which is going to be more cinematic. And that's in every sense when we talk about the album," Josh comments.
“We were kind of feeling like we had a new slate,” he continues. “[ The Battle at Garden's Gate ] was, in theory, an album we wanted to make from the beginning. But… I don’t know if we thought it would work well initially, as it would now after having this ongoing narrative or the relationship with all these people around the world through our travels,” Josh says, adding that “Age Of Machine” is much more a portrait of the album’s sound than “My Way, Soon.” Listen to both singles below and watch the full interview here.
