Greta Van Fleet: Guitarist Jake Kiska hospitalized with pneumonia

The band cancelled three of their shows urgently to take care of the musician's health

Greta Van Fleet is going through a delicate moment with the health of its members. On Wednesday the 16th, the band had to cancel two shows at the last minute, claiming that musicians Jake and Josh Kiszka were feeling unwell.

The suspicions of COVID-19 were ruled out, and the band announced this Friday, the 18th, that while Josh appears to have recovered, guitarist Jake has been diagnosed with pneumonia. Due to this diagnosis, the show scheduled for this Saturday, the 19th, in Huntington, has also been cancelled.

“Although Josh has recovered well, Jake’s diagnosis is more complicated,” the band wrote on their social media. “What started as a mild cough on Tuesday progressed rapidly overnight, requiring him to be hospitalized yesterday. The last 24 hours have been arduous because doctors weren’t sure about the precise illness. Fortunately, and after much evaluation, they are confident in the diagnosis of pneumonia and a great treatment option has been determined.”

Greta Van Fleet also thanked fans for their support and patience during this difficult time and announced the rescheduled dates for the three shows. Tickets purchased for the canceled shows will be valid for the new dates.
