Greta Van Fleet releases "Farewell For Now" this Friday, the 9th. This is the latest single from her new album, Starcatcher , which is scheduled for release on July 21st.
The album was written and recorded by the band members along with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb . The recording took place at RCA Studios in Nashville, and Greta Van Fleet's intention was to capture the energy of their live performances.
According to Blabbermouth , throughout the 10 tracks of Starcatcher , the band explores the duality of fantasy versus reality and the contrast between light and darkness. “We had the idea of telling these stories to build a universe,” comments drummer Danny Wagner . “We wanted to introduce characters and themes and these ideas that have emerged throughout our career into this world.”
“When I imagine the world of Starcatcher , I think of the cosmos,” explains Sam Kizska . “That makes me think about various questions like ‘Where did we come from?’ or ‘What are we doing here?’, but also questions like ‘What is this consciousness we have and where did it come from?’”
