The album follows two EPs released in 2017

A little over a year after their controversial success – due to their similarity to Led Zeppelin – Greta Van Fleet released their debut album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army.

The album was recorded and produced in Nashville, USA, alongside producers Marlon Young, Al Sutton, and Herschel Boone. The album's ten tracks were written by the band's four members: twins Josh (vocals) and Jake Kiszka (guitar), their brother Sam (bass), and drummer Danny Wagner.

Anthem of the Peaceful Army follows the EPs Black Smoke Rising and From the Fires , both released in 2017.
