Last week, YouTuber John Mollusk created a death metal version of Greta Thunberg . The environmental activist was speaking at a UN conference about world leaders and ecology.

The video, which transformed spoken words into death metal vocals, went viral. Even Greta herself shared it in a tweet saying, "I've given up on this climate change thing... Now I'm just going to play death metal!"

Now, the joke has taken a step further and the single has been officially released in support of Greta's causes. Mollusk, who is the drummer for a metal band, has teamed up with the Swedish label Despotz Records and all profits will be donated to Greenpeace.

“When I saw the speech, I was struck by the passion and anger. The words she chose evoked the darkness that I love in metal: Entombed, Gojira, At The Gates, Sepultura ,” he told Rolling Stone .

In a statement, the record label said: “Greta speaks better than we at the label or any other adult. One of the best things we can do is use our platform to spread her own words. We stand with her in this quest and are grateful for the opportunity to contribute in some way.”.
