Green Day will perform at the opening ceremony of Super Bowl 60 , scheduled for February 8th at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The NFL announced that the pop-punk trio will give a special performance playing a medley of their hits, while Super Bowl stars parade around the field, celebrating the history of the championship game.

The performance will take place before the main game and is part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Super Bowl, bringing Green Day to the stage in their home region.

In a press release, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong said: “We are super excited to open Super Bowl 60 right here in our backyard! It’s an honor to welcome the MVPs who shaped the sport and kick off the night for fans around the world. Let’s have fun! Let’s make some noise!”

Completing the Super Bowl 60 , Bad Bunny will be the halftime show performer, while Charlie Puth will sing the National Anthem.
