Green Day has released the single “Dilemma,” which will be part of the band's 14th album, Saviors , scheduled for release on January 19, 2024.
The new track follows the previously released singles “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and “Look Ma, No Brains!”. Recorded in London and Los Angeles, the project is the latest collaboration between Green Day and Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo , whose previous work with the group includes two of the band's most iconic albums, Dookie (1994) and American Idiot (2004).
In explaining the meaning of “Dilemma” in a statement released to the press, vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong commented: “'Dilemma' was one of those easy songs to write because it was very personal to me. We've seen many of our peers struggling with addiction and mental illness. This song is about the pain that comes from those experiences.”
