In August, Green Day surprised fans by announcing an expanded edition of their iconic album American Idiot , to be released on October 25th, in order to celebrate its 20th anniversary. At the time, the band had released three unreleased tracks: the demo of "Holiday/Boulevard Of Broken Dreams", the B-side "Favorite Son", and a live version of "Minority".

Now, a month after the announcement, Green Day has decided to release three more new tracks that will be included on the album, in the same category as those already released. These are a demo version of "Wake Me Up When September Ends," the B-side "Governator," and a live version of "St. Jimmy."

The album will therefore feature 15 original tracks, 15 unreleased demos, a live show recorded at Irving Plaza, New York in 2004, nine additional live recordings, including a cover of Queen ," and 14 bonus tracks.

In addition, the band will also release a new 110-minute documentary titled 20 Years Of American Idiot . The film Heart Like A Hand Grenade , which documents the nine months of recording American Idiot, will also be part of the box set.
