Green Day “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” this Tuesday, the 24th. The track is part of the band's new album, Saviors , which will be released on January 19th via Reprise/Warner Records .
The black and white music video was inspired by film noir and features Green Day in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. The video was directed by Brendan Walter and Ryan Baxley .
Recorded in London, England, and Los Angeles, USA, Saviors is the latest collaboration between Green Day and Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo , whose notable previous work with Green Day includes two of the band's most iconic albums, Dookie and American Idiot .
The new album arrives just before the 30th anniversary of Dookie . The celebrations have already begun with the release of a huge deluxe edition of the album and a surprise show in Las Vegas , where the band played the entire album to a sold-out crowd of super fans. On the same occasion, the band played “The American Dream Is Killing Me” live for the first time.
