While the band's frontman performed "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" solo, drummer Tré Cool and bassist Mike Dirnt dressed up as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively. Billie Joe Armstrong's emotional solo performance turned into laughter after the musicians appeared as Marvel characters, and even the vocalist couldn't hold back his laughter.
The surprise references the movie Deadpool & Wolverine , released in theaters a few weeks ago. "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" is part of the soundtrack and fits perfectly into a moment that moved many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
On their Instagram account, the band shared behind-the-scenes footage of the moment, and it wasn't just the fans who were amused. Ryan Reynolds , the actor who plays Deadpool in the movies, shared the video and said he was moved by the band's prank . "I'm crying. I love you, Green Day. I'm not feeling my life right now," he said.
