The rare recording of "Stay" dates from 1989
Green Day 's unreleased song "Stay" surfaced online this week.
The performance dates from 1989, years before the album Dookie was released . The audio of the show is clean, suggesting it was professionally recorded.
For a while, the song was called "World vs. World" by fans. But original drummer John Kiffmeyer clarified the name. The track was reportedly written for an indie band belonging to Billie Joe Armstrong .
