Last Friday, the 19th, Green Day celebrated the 25th anniversary of Insomniac by releasing a deluxe version of the album. The record received a new cover, with much more detail complementing the original image, in addition to having all its tracks remastered. Another novelty is the 8 bonus tracks taken from the live show that the band performed in Prague in 1996.
The special edition of Insomniac was originally scheduled for release in October, the album's official anniversary month, but was delayed due to production delays for the vinyl records. After the wait, the official records are now available on the Green Day website, in a limited edition translucent orange color. New t-shirts have also been added to the merchandise. Check them out here .
Insomniac was Green Day's fourth studio album, featuring the singles "Stuck With Me," "Walking Contradiction," and "Geek Stink Breath." The project followed the success of the album Dookie (1984) and reached number two on the Billboard 200. To complement the celebration, the band also released a playlist on their YouTube channel featuring previously unreleased footage from their 1996 Prague concert.
