The musician left a New Year's message for his fans.

With the new year comes the list of achievements and wishes for the new stage, and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong used his official Instagram to send an inspiring message for 2018.

In the photo, Billie Joe is at the Andy Warhol Museum next to a painting by the artist with the following caption:

“Dear young rocker. Be brave. Be strong. Unleash your anger. Irritate people. Don't be normal. Don't follow trends. Be loud. Swear. Profan. Be offensive. Tell the truth. YOUR truth. Fuck authority. Throw paint on the wall and write your music. Be dirty. Break glass. Do something. Don't be a coward. Don't be a follower. Go crazy. We need more young rebels with loud guitars.”

The message seeks to liberate young people from the standards imposed by modern society, and Billie Joe hopes it will be used as a kind of mantra by everyone.
