On September 20th, Green Day performed at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, and during the show, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong made some scathing comments about the Oakland Athletics, the baseball team he supports.

“We don’t accept bullshit from people like John Fisher, who sold the Oakland A’s to Las Vegas,” said the singer, referring to the team owner’s decision to move it from Oakland, California, to Las Vegas, Nevada. “I hate Las Vegas. It’s the worst latrine in America,” he added.

According to USA Today , following the comments, two of Las Vegas's main rock radio stations decided to ban the punk trio's music from their playlists. On September 25th, KOMP 92.3 posted an image of the band members on its Instagram account, with a ban symbol superimposed on it, and the caption "It's not us, Billy, it's you. #vegas4ever".

Shortly after, X107.5 also made a statement on social media, saying: "After Billie disrespected Las Vegas, we're cutting ALL of her music."

The post also asks users what they think of Billie's comments, and while some defended "Sin City" (nickname for Las Vegas), others highlighted the singer's freedom of expression, with some mentioning that the attitude was similar to the ban that the radio station imposed on Limp Bizkit for almost 20 years .
