The album Dookie was released on February 1, 1994

Green Day 's third album , Dookie , celebrated its 25th anniversary on February 1st. Therefore, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong shared some thoughts on the album.

Dookie was Green Day's debut on a major label and sold over 20 million copies worldwide. It also featured 5 of the band's hits, including "Longview," "Basket Case," and "When I Come Around."

Billie Joe wrote on Instagram: “Random thoughts and gratitude for the 25th anniversary of the Great D. We wanted to think of something special to do, but we couldn’t. Maybe play the whole album at the Pyramids of Egypt. Or in Machu Picchu? Exclusive show in Viggiano? It never worked out… But don’t despair. 2019 still has time. Dookie makes me think a lot about Berkeley. Our house in Ashby and Ellsworth, a block from Telegraph Street(…)”

He reflected on the memories during the album's recording sessions and admitted that they had "a lot of uncertainty about the future. But they didn't care at all. They wanted and feared being a rock star. If that's even possible.".
