Sepultura's new album is expected to be released in February 2020.

The Brazilian band Sepultura will enter the studio in August to begin recording their new album. The album is scheduled for release in February 2020.

Guitarist Andreas Kisser spoke about the plans in a new interview. “We are working on new ideas, on new songs. In fact, since September of last year we have been putting ideas together, making demos. Eloy Casagrande , the drummer, and I are working from São Paulo on the structures of the music. Derrick Green and Paulo Xisto are contributing their ideas from their homes. We now have about 10 songs, but we would like to release the album with 12 – that's the idea – plus covers and bonus tracks for special releases and things like that.”

He continued: “It’s great that we have a tour in April to get out a bit and play on stage. I think it will bring new energy and motivation to come back and finish the work,” he commented.

“We still have a lot to do, but we’re going into the studio in August, in Sweden, with producer Jens Bogren . He’s the same producer as Machine Messiah ,” he added. “And yes, the idea is to release the album in February 2020. We have a concept and a name, but we can’t share it yet.”

Machine Messiah was Sepultura's fourteenth studio album, their eighth with Derrick Green.
