The current drummer for Sepultura spoke about his profession and the feud between the band and Max and Iggor Cavalera.
Eloy Casagrande , current drummer for Sepultura , gave an interview to the Drumtalk . In it, Eloy talked about the profession of drummer and about the famous feud between brothers Max and Iggor Cavalera and the band.
Casagrande shared what he likes most about being a drummer. “I think that, for every musician, it’s something natural. I didn’t choose the drums, the drums chose me. It was natural. I find all aspects of drumming incredible. Perhaps the coolest thing – not about playing drums, but about being on stage – is the connection. Connecting with people and giving and receiving energy.”
Casagrande stated that he doesn't play in a cerebral way. "You don't play with your brain, you don't play with any kind of thought, you play with your body. You respect the natural aspect. That's the coolest thing."
The feud between Max and Iggor Cavalera and the members of Sepultura is known worldwide. However, Eloy doesn't feel that it has any influence on him. “I really don't care. I respect the whole history. I have total respect for the former drummers, Iggor and Jean [Dolabella] . They are wonderful, incredible guys. But we live in the present. I don't care about what has already happened. We have to follow our own path.”
