Grave Digger's last album was released in 2017.
The Living Dead is the name of the upcoming album from the German band Grave Digger , which will be released on September 14th by Napalm Records.
In an interview with Get Ready To Rock!, vocalist Chris Boltendahl spoke about the new songs: “I would say we are inspired by our own creativity,” he said. “As you well know, we’ve been playing this style of music for many years and every member of this band is a very talented musician, so in the end, what we do is simply play the kind of music we love – the music we grew up listening to, we’re fortunate to have acquired our own style over the years and that, I believe, is the most important thing to have. When people tell me, ‘you sound like this or that band,’ my response to them is: ‘Well, we sound like Grave Digger. Thank you very much.’ [Laughs]”
“The band members have been playing together for over twenty years, and that certainly makes things easier when bringing in new music, but ultimately, it all comes down to good quality control, you know? I really have to feel that a certain song deserves to be released under the Grave Digger name – if not, then we simply discard it. We create a lot of riffs when we work on a new album, but not all of them are good enough to make it onto a new album. A Grave Digger album. The quality level in the decision-making process is very high. Since our music is quite guitar-oriented, we focus a lot on the quality of the riffs we choose to use, and so the decision-making process is very tough indeed.”
The band will be touring Europe in January.
