“I grew up with Marvel and DC comics, and they’ve been a part of my life since I was four or five years old,” said Charlie Benante of Anthrax. “My mother worked at the Primrose Bakery on Tremont Avenue in New York City, and when I went to work with her, I would sit in the back with the bakers. I would read and draw the superhero comics she bought for me at a nearby newsstand. Since then, I’ve loved everything about comics and the neighborhood comic shops,” he added.
