Alex Brown died of natural causes

Alex Brown guitarist for the band Gorilla Biscuits , has died at the age of 52.

Anthony Civarelli , the band's frontman, confirmed the information through a post on social media. Brown died from a basal ganglia stroke, a part of the brain that controls movement.

“The world lost a beloved son, brother, uncle, artist, musician, and friend this week,” Civarelli wrote. “I lost my bandmate and friend of over 30 years. A piece of my heart died this week. All I can do is think of all the joy, shows, food fights, and trips we had together. All the late-night conversations and morning walks with him, my wife, and children. There will never be another Alex Brown.”

The vocalist said that a memorial for Brown will be held in Iowa in the coming weeks.

"Tell those you love that you love them," he added.
